The online Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Social Sciences is a degree designed to reflect the world we live in today Ė interconnected, diverse, dynamic and influenced by emerging technologies. The programís courses and curriculum have been custom built from the ground up by leading UW faculty and instructional designers.
The Integrated Social Sciences program, presented by the UW College of Arts & Sciences, allows you to fulfill your personal and career goals while exploring vital topics that shape our world.
The ISS degree completion program requires students to enter with at least 75 transferable quarter credits. (For more details on minimum admission requirements, see the Admissions page.) Students will then complete 60 credits in the program, broken down as follows:
- 20 credits of ISS core courses, which guide you in developing an online e-portfolio to showcase your learning
- 40 credits of courses from social science departments and disciplines, including courses from five of the programís seven thematic areas of inquiry
Students need a total of 180 credits to earn their bachelor's degree. In addition to the required courses above, ISS students may take additional ISS classes, or other designated online classes through the UW, to fulfill their graduation requirements.
Full-time students can generally complete the program in one to two years, and part-time students in three to four years.
